Artist Spotlight: A New Artist I Currently Can't Get Enough Of

Updated: Jan 8, 2020

Well folks, its time I introduce you to somebody I've been following for awhile. I'm so proud to say that he has started recording his debut album! Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to Jon Langston. I don't know what it is about Georgia Boys, but they seem to do pretty well in Country Music! (Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line, Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum, Thomas Rhett, Sam Hunt, and Kip Moore--to name a few).

For so long, Jon was only performing down south in Georgia or back East and never came West to Colorado. It was absolutely killing me and I was about ready to buy a plane ticket for the sole purpose of finally seeing Jon perform live. Luckily, last July, he finally made his way to Colorado and performed at the LEGENDARY Grizzly Rose. For those who don't know, The Grizzly Rose is THE place to play in Denver for any country artist who is starting out. The Rose opened in 1989 and has had so many iconic artists perform over the years (Garth, FGL, Blake, Taylor, Kenny--just to name a few). I've seen so many concerts at the Rose in the 10 years since I turned 18 (I'll do a top 10 list of my favorite concerts at the Rose later).

That night in July when Jon took the stage, he confirmed what I had predicted after listening to his EPs--that he was going to be a star! The capacity of the Rose is 2,000 people and there was maybe only 800 people there that night. He put on one hell of a show with the full band and his energy was INSANE! I lucked out and was able to see him perform at one of our local radio stations earlier that day and he performed a couple songs acoustically. Let me tell you, whether Jon is playing acoustic or with the full band, you WON'T be disappointed. It takes true artist's talent to be able to perform acoustically and Jon has it!

Easily one of the nicest guys in Country Music

This Colorado girl lucked out again when Jon decided to come back to Colorado this past April and play 2 shows! He played on a Friday night at The Grizzly Rose again and a Saturday night at Warehouse 2565 in Grand Junction, CO--about 4 hours West of Denver. Since us Colorado peeps don't get to see Jon all that frequently, you best believe your girl drove those 4 hours to see him play 2 nights in a row! I didn't care if it was the same set twice, I'll take what I can get! HAHA Both shows drew a much larger crowd than last year, and there was definitely more fans--ones that knew most of the songs Jon has released on iTunes and Spotify. With this tour, Jon had the option for fans to purchase VIP packages and meet him before the show. He poured a shot of Crown Royal for those who are legally able to drink and toasted everyone, truly humble and grateful for us. He knows that he would absolutely not be where he is today without the support of his fans and us spreading the word about his music. The same thing is true for his entire band and crew. Brad (Guitar), Scott (Drums), Stephen (Bass), and JD (Tour Manager) are all equally as grateful and humble to be where they are today.

Last Friday, Jon kicked off his Fall Headlining Tour in Nashville, TN at Marathon Music Works. One of my favorite people AND my favorite city?! SIGN ME UP! My friends and I bought our tickets and contributed to Jon's first ever sold-out headlining show. What a night it was to be a part of! He also had the first ever fan club party of his new Bird Dog Fan Club. Jon is seriously one of the most down to earth and friendly artists I've had the pleasure of meeting. You can take my word for it, or you can purchase a VIP package at any one of his upcoming tour dates and find out for yourself-- while his VIP packages are still reasonably priced--trust me, they won't be for long! If Friday night's show is any indication of how the rest of the shows of the Bird Dog Tour will be, y 'all are going to want to make sure you get your tickets! Jon also played a few new songs for us and I can't wait until I can listen to them on repeat! He will be releasing a few of them on his new EP, Now You Know on October 25th so you all will have to make sure to check it out!

Until Next Time!

xoxo Britt
